Keep Calm and Camp On during The Salvation Army Summer Camps!

It is time to create wonderful new memories, meet new friends, gain new skills and confidence and have an amazing experience with God in His creation! The Traverse City, Salvation Army is excited to provide area children and youth the opportunity to attend Away camp at Little Pine Island Camp in Comstock Park, MI.

We are sure that you have heard the song “This Little Light of Mine.” A simple inspiring song of promise and hope! We are surrounded by the amazing light of children who are filled with promise and hope….a great many whose families face financial constraints. Like all children they are enthusiastically looking forward to summer break! We believe that regardless of circumstance that every child should experience camp and have the chance to shine brightly, laugh loudly and enjoy an amazing experience with God in His creation this summer!

Adults aren’t the only people who need a break from everyday life. Children need to get away, too. For many kids served by The Salvation Army, summer does little to relieve the stress of living in poverty or a troubled home. For these children, true peace can be found in the positive environment of Little Pine Island. Little Pine Island Camping serves the needs of campers: physical, social, and spiritual.

That is why, here at The Salvation Army, we are excitedly gearing up for Away Camp opportunities for area children! Camp experiences include 3-5 day away camp fun at The Salvation Army’s Little Pine Island, regional camp.
