    Bell Ringing begins November 10 thru December 23 - Join us in making a joyful noise and raise funds for local programs   

    Thursday, November 2,  9am - noon or 1 - 4pm: Assist with Holiday Assistance registration as a greeter or provide administrative assistance with data entry

    Saturday, November 4, 9am - 2pm - Assist with Holiday Assistance registration as a greeter or provide administrative assistance with data entry

    Tuesday, November 7, 9am - noon or 1 - 4pm: Assist with Holiday Assistance registration as a greeter or provide administrative assistance with data entry

    Sunday, November 5, 3:00 - 6:30pm: Assist with sorting and organization of food from Sleeping Bear Riders Food Drive

    Wednesday, November 15, 1:30 -4 pm: Assist with packing of Thanksgiving Food Baskets

    Thursday, November 16, 9:30 - 5:30pm: Assist with distribution of Thanksgiving Food Baskets

    Tuesday, November 21 - Assist with preparation for Thanksgiving Community Meal and Decorations

    Wednesday, November 22 - Assist in making Thanksgiving Community Meal a memorable meal for our guests (many different opportunities for individuals, groups and families).  

    Dates to be determined - assist in sorting and hanging winter coats and accessories for distribution to those in need.  

    DECEMBER  

    Monday, December 11, 10 - 7pm: Assist in set up and organization of Christmas Toy Shop and Christmas Food Basket Distribution

    Tuesday, December 12, 9 - 5pm:  Assist in set up and organization of Christmas Toy Shop and Christmas Food Basket Distribution

    Thursday, December 14, 8 - 6pm: Assist with distribution of Toys, Gifts and Food Baskets (many different tasks)  

    Friday, December 15,     8 - 5pm: Assist with distribution of Toys, Gifts and Food Baskets and Tear down. 

    Friday, December 22: Assist in making Christmas Community Meal a celebration for our guests (many different opportunities for individuals, groups and families).       

    Additional ways to help spread the joy of the season: 

    ··  Host a counter Red Kettle at your business – you set the dates and length of time

        (We provide the Red Kettle, locks and securing hardware – base is 6 inches round) 

    ·  Team Kettle Ringers – get your team and their families together to ring together
      (Set up a friendly rivalry with a divisions/departments or rivals)

    ·  Sponsor a Red Kettle (match donations at a location during a set time)

    ·  Sell Paper Red Kettles for $1.00 at your business/group

    ·  Roll-up sales at the cash register (dates and times specified by you)

    ·  Host an Online Red Kettle (business or personal) 

    ·  Become Teen Angels or Christmas Wishmakers (Adopt a Teen or collect items from our Wish List)

    ·  Sponsor a Thanksgiving or Christmas basket with all the fixings for a struggling family

    · Host a Red Kettle Christmas Party (home/group or business)

    · Host a Christmas Gift/Coat or Winter Accessory collection

    The only limitation to ideas is your imaginations. We would love work with you on your ideas.

Volunteers make a difference!  Join us in Doing the Most Good for the Most People in the Most Need!

The rewards of volunteering can be immense for both you as the volunteer and for those on the receiving end. Your kind-hearted donation of time and talents can produce amazing results.

The Salvation Army encourages individuals and groups of all ages to join in the spirit of giving through volunteering. Your volunteer support enables us to utilize our funding to provide services that are designed to meet the needs of our growing communities. 

 Independent volunteering is a great way to meet new people while helping others, and group projects serve as wonderful team-building activities for established groups or clubs. Those who want to help but who are not able to participate as a volunteer can still help in other ways. For example, if you are not able to participate as a volunteer, why not consider collecting items to donate to one of our many programs. A little help makes a big difference!
